From Yoma to the World 🌍 | Our Youth at Africa Skills Conference 2025
Yoma was proud to be represented at the Africa Skills Conference 2025 in Addis Ababa by two of our inspiring youth ambassadors, Esther Hilda and Hafiz Sani Galadima.
This intercontinental event brought together youth leaders, innovators, policymakers, and organizations from across Africa to explore how digital skills, vocational training, entrepreneurship, and innovation can shape the future of work on the continent.
The conference featured dynamic panel discussions, interactive sessions, and showcases of youth-led initiatives addressing real-world challenges. Key topics included:
💡 How innovative technology solutions, like Yoma’s platforms, are opening pathways for youth livelihoods.
🤝 Public-private partnerships supporting youth upskilling, such as collaborations with the African Union Commission, Generation Unlimited (GenU), UNICEF, and SAP.
🌍 Practical examples of youth empowerment, skills development, and innovation driving Africa’s socio-economic growth.
For Esther, this was her first international trip and an incredible opportunity to share her personal journey of transformation through Yoma on a global stage. From engaging young people at the Yoma booth to speaking on a panel alongside leaders from across the continent, she exemplified how access to skills and opportunity can unlock potential.
Hafiz had a transformative experience serving as both a panelist and moderator, amplifying the voice of African youth. He highlighted the importance of equipping young Africans with the right skills and mindset to become both job seekers and job creators, reinforcing Yoma’s mission to empower youth with the tools, networks, and opportunities they need to thrive.
A special mention to all the inspiring speakers and panelists who contributed their voices to the conversations, including Camila Justine Jacinta Haux, Hira Qureshi, Pauline Umulisa, Lesego Mokone, and Veronica Maake, among others — your insights continue to drive the movement for youth empowerment across Africa.
The energy, ideas, and collaborations at #AfricaSkillsWeek were truly inspiring. We are proud to see our youth actively contributing to conversations that shape Africa’s future, and we remain committed to supporting young people to turn skills into meaningful opportunities.
A heartfelt thank you to all partners, speakers, and organizations who made this event possible, your collaboration ensures that Africa’s youth are seen, heard, and empowered to lead. 🌍💡
